Hello everyone! My name is Marvin, and I’m the proud owner of Mikay 15 Junk Removal. At 30 years old, I am a local business owner who takes great pride in serving my community. With 5 years of hands-on experience in the junk removal industry, my journey into this business began under the mentorship of my uncle, who owned a junk removal and moving company for 10 years. From him, I learned everything from customer service to the technical skills of wrapping and stacking furniture, ensuring a smooth removal or moving process. When he retired in December 2023 and returned to the Philippines, I knew it was time for me to take the leap and start my own company. I named it after my daughter, Mikayleigh, with the number 15 representing her birthday, a constant reminder of why I work so hard.
As a single dad, my motivation comes from providing the best life possible for my daughter. Running a business isn’t easy, but every day I push myself to give my best because I know that her future depends on my efforts today. Balancing work and parenting is no small task, but it's a challenge I embrace wholeheartedly.
When I’m not busy with junk removal jobs, I take on side gigs like driving for DoorDash, and I enjoy spending time at the gym lifting heavy weights—something I’ve been passionate about for years. In my earlier days, I was a personal trainer, helping people achieve their fitness goals. While I no longer do this professionally, I still enjoy training people in my free time, whether it's to lose weight or build muscle. It’s something I do for fun when friends or acquaintances ask for advice.
Apart from fitness, I also have a deep interest in technology. I’m skilled in computers, decoding, and website design, which has allowed me to build and manage my own website for Mikay 15 Junk Removal. As a tech enthusiast, I’m always looking for ways to improve the site and share my story with my customers. I want them to know the person behind the business—the hard-working father, the determined entrepreneur, and the guy who just loves helping others, whether it's clearing out unwanted junk or offering a little tech support.
Building Mikay 15 Junk Removal has been more than just a career; it’s been a personal journey. After a motorcycle accident caused me to lose my previous job, I found myself turning back to junk removal with my uncle’s help. His decision to retire gave me the push I needed to create something of my own, and I’ve been dedicated to growing my business ever since.
I believe in working hard and investing wisely, not just for the success of my business but for the future of my daughter. Every job I take on, every customer I help, brings me one step closer to providing her with the life she deserves. Thank you for supporting local businesses like mine. Together, we make our community stronger.
